Why TU Continuing and Professional Studies?

Our instructors are industry leaders. Many are Towson University faculty. With small class sizes, they are committed to providing you with the guidance needed to successfully complete your course and advance your career.

Individuals may take advantage of our tuition payment plans which enables students to break down tuition throughout the duration of the course. All plans require that the first payment be made prior to the course start date in order for students to be fully enrolled and attend class or gain access to their online account. The total number of payments will vary depending upon the length of the course. All payments must be made in full, with the final payment due at least seven business days prior to the course end date, in order to successfully complete the course.

Individuals who have previously taken a continuing education course with Towson University Continuing & Professional Studies are eligible for a 20% discount upon registration into any course. Towson University students, alumni, staff, and faculty are eligible for a 20% discount upon registration into any course with a current TU ID or an unofficial transcript.

TU provides group and corporate discounts for most courses. Email for more details.

Register for instructor-led courses at least 30 days in advance of the start date and receive a 5% discount on the price. Note: WIOA and other tuition assistance programs are not eligible for this discount.

We are conveniently located just inside the beltway in the heart of downtown Towson at 401 Washington Avenue, across the street from the historic courhouse and the U.S. Post Office.

Continuing education students are now eligible for discounted MTA bus passes for the duration of their course enrollment.

Towson University Continuing & Professional Studies courses are non-credit and students do not require academic admission to Towson University to enroll.

Towson University Continuing and Professional Studies cannot guarantee employment placement, salary increases, or career advancement upon completion of any of our non-degree courses. Career advancement may require additional experience, training, or other factors beyond the successful completion of our programs.

In addition, students are fully responsible for understanding the requirements of the associated certification exams for the program they are completing. Towson University cannot guarantee students will be eligible to sit for or pass any exams. In some cases, work experience, educational requirements beyond our certification courses, and/or background checks may be necessary to be eligible to take and/or to successfully pass the associated exams.

Students are responsible for additional exam fees, including proctor fees, incurred when scheduling exams. 

For students requiring proof of attendance, we provide certificate of completion or confirm dates attended. We do not provide transcripts for non-credit courses. Our student record retention limit is five years. Please contact with requests for proof of course completion.

Funding Opportunities

The (WIOA) provides federal workforce funding to assist individuals who meet certain criteria for enrollment into a postsecondary school program. Towson University is a designated Maryland Eligible Training Provider and almost all courses offered by Continuing & Professional Studies are WIOA approved.
