CLA PTRM Committee

The College of Liberal Arts promotion, tenure, reappointment and merit committee provides professional review  of faculty performance by colleagues at the college level.

The Committee is made up of one member from each department plus the dean as a non-voting member. The job of the committee is to apply to specific cases standards and criteria articulated in USM, Towson University, the College of Liberal Arts, and department documents, ensuring in so far as possible consistency and fairness for each person evaluated.

The committee reviews departmental and chair recommendations and makes its own recommendations on the granting of tenure and on promotion, prior to review folders being forwarded to the Provost's Office for the final decision.
