What are the prerequisites needed to earn a PMP® certification?
No prerequisites are required to take our Project Management Professional (PMP®) Certification Prep course. To be eligible for the PMP certification, you must meet certain educational and professional experience requirements. All project management experience must have been accrued within the last eight consecutive years prior to your application submission.

- Four-year degree
- Three years leading projects
- 35 hours of project management education/training or CAPM® certification

- High school diploma or an associate's degree or global equivalent
- Five years leading projects
- 35 hours of project management education/training or CAPM® certification
Exam format
- 180 questions, but the same number of questions will be scored
- 230 minutes to complete the exam
- One additional break for a total of two 10-minute breaks for computer-based tests. No scheduled breaks for paper-based exams.
- Questions will be a combination of multiple-choice, multiple responses, matching, hot area, and limited fill-in-the-blank.
