Women’s Leadership Collective offers mentorship, skill-building opportunities
Program provides leadership skills to women throughout their academic and professional lives.
Find Out MoreThe Women’s Leadership Collective provides leadership skills and experience to allow women to advance their academic and professional careers—while creating a collective of women supporting women.
The Collective creates distinct cohorts of TU undergraduate and graduate students and high school girls to share stories, skills, experiences, and best practices that enable participants to sharpen communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills as they build self-confidence. Participants are exposed to mentors, networking liaisons, and leadership skills curriculum to help in defining and solidifying their capacity and roles as influencers, catalysts, team members, and innovators.
The Collective creates a spiral where participants can grow with their cohorts and benefit from intergenerational exchange and collaboration during seminars, workshops, and service projects—accessing the program at whatever point in their careers they find themselves.

Dr. Grasmick serves as ambassador for TU’s Professional Leadership Program for Women, a program under Dr. Schatzel’s TU Matters to Maryland priority. Alumni of this program
participate in a mentorship program with our Outstanding Young Women Leaders Program.
Learn more about this program.
Launched in January 2020, the Outstanding Young Women Leaders program is a year-long
program that provides leadership and mentorship activities and events for young women—one
junior from each Baltimore County public high school. Spearheaded by Dr. Grasmick
and the Women’s Leadership Collective, the program allows young women to interact with TU administrators, faculty and students
and be matched with female corporate mentors, with mentors and mentees connecting
throughout the year.
To be eligible for the program, young women must meet academic, leadership and community
service requirements and be nominated by their principal. Members of the TU Women’s
Leadership Collective select a finalist from each high school after reviewing applications
and school transcripts and conducting interviews.
The TU Student Leadership Advisory Council is made up of female TU students who help to identify programmatic needs, plan events, and provide leadership opportunities across campus.
