Frequently Asked Questions

Intramural Sports is a department within Campus Recreation that provides the structure for competitive and non-competitive sport play. When you play an Intramural Sport you play other on-campus teams. Intramural Sports trains officials, provides facility space, equipment, and league scheduling. Sport Clubs are run by student members. A Sport Club is responsible for scheduling their own practices and meetings, recruiting members, requesting funding, arranging travel and maintaining club equipment. Most clubs practice 2-4 times a week and compete against other 麻豆传媒.

No experience is necessary, and there is no limit to the amount of Intramural Sports you can participate in. However, beginners to a sport are encouraged to participate in the recreational league.

Yes, however restrictions are in place. Reference the Intramural Sports Participant Manual for more information. In addition, club members who are participating in their 鈥渓ike鈥 sport must always participate in the competitive league.

Each participant can play on ONE open or women鈥檚 team, AND ONE open rec team. Participants cannot play for multiple teams within the same league. Once an individual participates for a team, they are ineligible to switch teams.

The Intramural Sports program does not organize formal practices. However, teams are able to 鈥減ractice鈥 during regularly scheduled open recreation times.

Intramural Sports teams are made up of Towson University students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Each team plays other teams made up of a similar group of participants. For example, a team made up of students that live on the same floor may play a team made up of students that are in the same student organization.

The Intramural Sports program provides all equipment needed to participate in every activity.

There is no formal try out process for Intramural Sports. Anyone who is eligible to participate is welcome to create or join a team.

Each individual participant is required to purchase an Intramural Sports Pass in order to be eligible to participate in seasons and tournaments. An Intramural Sports Pass is not required for participation in free events. Pass options are below, and can be purchased at recreation.towson.edu.

There are many benefits to being involved including improved fitness, meeting new people, being part of a community, and reducing stress. Intramural Sports is a great way to continue to play the sports that you love, or to get out of your comfort zone and try something new.

Competitive leagues are designed for participants who are looking for more challenging gameplay and are 鈥渋n it to win it鈥. Recreational leagues are designed for participants who are looking to participate with a 鈥渏ust for fun鈥 mentality.

Most seasons will feature a four week regular season, followed by a single elimination playoff. Teams who finish in the top half of their division, have not forfeited once or defaulted twice, and maintain at least a 3.0 sportsmanship rating are eligible for the playoffs.

Intramural Sports Pass Frequently Asked Questions

A Play Pass grants each pass holder all-access to Intramural Sports activities, events and programs. Individuals that wish to play on multiple teams in a given year are encouraged to purchase a Play Pass.

Individuals can purchase a $10 Single Team Pass for each team they would like to compete on. This pass is ideal for individuals only interested in playing on a single team per semester. One Single Team Pass required per person, per team.

An Intramural Sports Pass is required for participation in all seasons and tournaments.

Each individual participant is required to purchase an Intramural Sports Pass.

This series of activities is designed to offer a less structured environment for participants who are interested in being active and having fun. Participants are encouraged to meet new friends, and potentially meet individuals to form a team with, all while participating in a fun social atmosphere. Activities include: Welcome to TU, Labor Stay, Learn, Meet & Play Events, and Adaptive Recreation.

An Intramural Sports Pass is not required for participation in free events.
