Accelerated Program Requirements
Towson University offers a number of accelerated bachelor's and graduate programs. There are two types: 1) structured programs within or among departments or program units, and 2) individualized plans that are specific to a student's career interests and goals. Undergraduate students typically are screened into an accelerated program when they have earned 60-89.5 units (Junior Standing) and a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 by the department chairpersons and/or graduate program director.
During the undergraduate program, students have the opportunity to take up to 9 units of graduate course work (up to 9 units for a master's degree, up to 6 units for a graduate certificate). These units and the earned grade will count toward the undergraduate degree, and if a grade of C or higher is earned, the units will later be applied toward the graduate degree. The GPA for these units will only count on the undergraduate degree. No more than two courses with grades of C will be applied to the graduate degree per .
Students in accelerated bachelor's to graduate programs will be assessed undergraduate tuition for graduate level coursework. Please see the Student and University Billing Office for details.
Only undergraduate students who have been screened into an accelerated bachelor's to graduate program will be permitted to enroll in graduate level courses.
