About the Department
The Department of Computer and Information Sciences offers programs including: an ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, and an ABET-accredited cyber operations program, a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems, a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology, a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, a Master of Science in Applied Information Technology, and a Ph.D. degree in Information Technology. The department is one of the largest departments at Towson University and has approximately 47 full-time faculty, over 70 adjunct instructors, and 8 full-time staff members. We offer more than 80 undergraduate courses, over 40 graduate courses serving over 1,700 undergraduate majors in the Computer Science, Information Systems, and Information Technology programs, and approximately 400 graduate students. The Department is placed within the Fisher College of Science and Mathematics. With more than 3,600 undergraduates, 34% of whom are minority students, the Fisher College of Science and Mathematics is one of the fastest growing and most diverse colleges at Towson University.
