Have you ever wondered what it is like to be a theatre major at Towson University? Now is your chance to find out.
Experience what it would be like to major in theatre at TU.
As a major for the day, you'll:
- meet and work with our theatre arts faculty
- attend a real academic class
- learn about careers in theatre
- tour our theaters, classrooms, shops and campus
- talk to and get to know our theatre arts students
Parents, students and guests are invited to attend and learn about TU’s Department of Theatre, Financial Aid, University Admissions and to meet with the department advisors.

Fall 2024 Schedule
Date: Monday, October 14, 2024 - 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Location: Towson University, Center for the Arts
Schedule (Subject to Change)
- 9 – 9:30 a.m.: Student Check-In
- 9:15 - 10:00 a.m.: Parents/Chaperones attend a panel with staff members from the Office of Financial Aid and University Admissions
- 9:30 – 10 a.m.: Student welcome (in Mainstage Theatre)
- 10 – 11 a.m.: Tour of the Department of Theatre Arts Facilities
- 11 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.: Students attend an academic class
- 11 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.: Parents/Chaperones attend First Year Experience (FYE) advising session with Chairperson & Academic Program Coordinator
- 12:15 – 1:15 p.m.: Lunch (in Studio Theatre) - Students & Parents/Chaperones
- 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.: Panel with Faculty, Staff and Current Students - Students & Parents/Chaperones
- 2:30 – 5 p.m.: Faculty-led Workshop and/or Campus Tour - Students & Parents/Chaperones
- 6:30 p.m.: (Optional) Observe a dress rehearsal of Kid Simple
Undergraduate Theatre Arts Areas of Study
Acting Major (B.F.A.)
The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting is for students who are seeking rigorous preparation for graduate study or entry-level opportunities in the acting profession. An audition/interview is required for entry into the acting program.
