Early Childhood & Special Education Access Pathway

Early Childhood & Special Education (ECSE) Access is a bachelor's degree pathway specially designed to support personnel in licensed child care centers and early childhood education settings across the state of Maryland who are pursuing an early childhood and special education degree. 

ECSE Access Program Highlights

  • Part-time program sequence
  • Online, evening coursework 
  • On-the-job internships
  • Students may be eligible to apply for Child Care Career Professional Development Fund (CCCPDF) tuition assistance
  • Graduates are eligible for dual certification in Early Childhood Education (Pre-k through grade 3) and Special Education (birth-grade 3) 

ECSE Access Candidates

  • Must be employed at a licensed childcare center or early childhood education setting in Maryland
  • Must have completed prior coursework towards education at an accredited college (ex. AAT, AA, AAS)
  • Want to pursue their bachelor's degree in ECSE while working full-time at their Maryland childcare center or early childhood education setting
